In the plastic recycling and processing industry, the efficiency of plastic crushers directly affects the overall production progress. A plastic processing enterprise in [Area] was troubled by the feeding problem of its plastic crusher, which seriously restricted the production efficiency. In addition, the funnel - shaped feeding port was not easy to clean. After a long period of use, plastic residues would accumulate at the curved part, which not only affected the hygiene of the production process but also might cause cross - contamination between different types of plastics, affecting the quality of the crushed products.
Design Ideas of Straight Tube Feeding Port
In view of the problems existing in the original feeding port, we put forward the design scheme of the straight tube feeding port. The core idea is to ensure that the plastic materials can enter the crushing chamber smoothly and quickly through a straight and unobstructed channel.
First, determine the diameter of the straight tube. According to the size of the plastic materials commonly processed by the enterprise and the feeding capacity required by the production, we calculated and determined the appropriate diameter of the straight tube. The diameter is slightly larger than the maximum size of the commonly used plastic materials to avoid the problem of material jamming caused by insufficient space.
Second, design the length of the straight tube. The length of the straight tube is determined according to the height of the crusher and the feeding habits of the workers. It should be convenient for workers to transport materials to the feeding port and ensure that the materials can fall into the crushing chamber by their own gravity without additional pushing.
Third, optimize the connection between the straight tube and the crushing chamber. We designed a smooth transition structure at the connection part to avoid the occurrence of material accumulation. At the same time, a baffle is added at the connection to prevent the crushed plastic fragments from splashing out of the feeding port during the crushing process, ensuring the safety of the production site.
Implementation of the Straight Tube Feeding Port Transformation
After the design scheme was determined and approved by the enterprise, we carried out the transformation of the straight tube feeding port.
First, we customized the straight tube feeding port according to the designed parameters. The material of the straight tube is selected from high - strength and wear - resistant stainless steel, which can withstand the impact of plastic materials during feeding and is easy to clean, ensuring the service life and hygiene of the feeding port.
Then, the original funnel - shaped feeding port was removed, and the straight tube feeding port was installed in the corresponding position. During the installation process, we paid special attention to the tightness of the connection between the straight tube and the crushing chamber to prevent material leakage.
Finally, we debugged the transformed plastic crusher. We tested the feeding situation with different sizes and types of plastic materials, adjusted the position of the baffle appropriately, and ensured that the feeding was smooth and there was no splashing of crushed fragments.
The Effect of Using the Straight Tube Feeding Port
After the transformation of the straight tube feeding port, the feeding effect of the plastic crusher has been significantly improved, bringing obvious benefits to the enterprise.
In terms of feeding efficiency, the straight tube feeding port completely solves the problem of material jamming. Large plastic pieces and bulk materials can enter the crushing chamber smoothly under the action of gravity. The feeding speed is increased by about 40% compared with before the transformation, and the crusher can work continuously with sufficient material supply, which greatly improves the crushing efficiency.
In terms of labor intensity, workers no longer need to use tools to push materials, which reduces their labor intensity. The occurrence of potential safety hazards caused by manual pushing is also avoided, and the safety of the production site is guaranteed.
In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the straight tube structure is easy to clean. Workers can directly use water or cleaning tools to clean the inner wall of the straight tube, which reduces the accumulation of plastic residues and ensures the hygiene of the production process. At the same time, the wear - resistant stainless steel material reduces the frequency of maintenance and replacement, saving maintenance costs for the enterprise.
In addition, the stable and smooth feeding also makes the operation of the crusher more stable, reduces the impact of uneven feeding on the equipment, and extends the service life of the crusher.
